Nap Lajoie was an American professional baseball player and manager. He was a second baseman, who played with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Athletics, and the Cleveland Naps of Major League Baseball (MLB), and also managed the latter team. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937, as a Cleveland player. He was nicknamed “The Frenchman” and was also known as Larry Lajoie.
Nap was the son of Celina and Jean Baptiste Lajoie, who was a teamster and laborer. He was married to Myrtle Smith.
Nap’s maternal grandfather was named Pierre Guertin.
Nap’s maternal grandmother was named Angalique Pareau.
