Her father, Nicholas Martin, is a software designer. Her mother, Élise Desjardins, is an acclaimed pianist. Béatrice has a daughter with her former husband, tattoo artist Alex Peyrat; and a son with her partner Marc Flynn. Her name is French for “pirate’s heart.”

Béatrice’s patrilineal line can be traced back to her ninth great-grandfather, Jean Martin.

Béatrice’s paternal grandfather was journalist Louis Martin (the son of Hector Martin and Joséphine Décary). Hector was the son of Joseph Pierre Napoléon Martin and Marie Antoinette St-Denis. Béatrice’s paternal grandmother is Hélène Filion (the daughter of Joseph-Alfred-Léopold Filion and Carmelle Darisse). Hélène was born in Québec. Léopold was the son of Pierre Filion and Marie Eugénie Alice Voisine. Carmelle was the daughter of Alexis Darisse and Marie Zoé Eva Desjardins.

Béatrice’s maternal grandfather was Maurice Desjardins (the son of Louis Desjardins and Alexandrina Venne). Maurice was born in Montréal, Québec. Louis was the son of Louis Urgel Desjardins and Marie-Amanda Moussin-Lajoie. Alexandrina was the daughter of Louis-Pacifique Venne and Joséphine Langlois. Oscar was the son of Filias Zacharie Milette and Marie Accée Coté. Accée’s paternal fifth great-grandfather, Pierre Molleur, was German, from Baden-Württemberg. Yvonne was the daughter of Laurent Bourgault and Marie Cantin. Laurent’s paternal great-great-grandfather, Georg Theilheimer (or Georges Tellemer), was German, from Theilheim, Bavaria. Laurent’s maternal grandparents, Garret Evoy and Catherine Stafford, were Irish.

Béatrice’s maternal line can be traced back to her eleventh great-grandmother, Marie-Joséphe Bardin, of La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France.
