Eka’s biological father, Ray Darwin, is an African-Jamaican reggae artist. Eka’s mother, Malaika Darville, who is Canadian, is of European and African-Jamaican descent (Eka’s maternal grandmother was Jamaican). Eka was raised by his mother and stepfather in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia.
