Mark Frankel was a British actor. He starred on the show Kindred: The Embraced and in the films Leon the Pig Farmer and Roseanna’s Grave.
Mark was the son of Grace and David Frankel. His father had Polish Jewish ancestry. His mother was of Indian Jewish/Iraqi Jewish descent, with roots in Mumbai and Baghdad.
Mark was married to French advertising account executive Caroline Besson, until his death, with whom he had two children, including actor Fabien Frankel.
Mark’s paternal grandfather was named Alexander Frankel.
Mark’s paternal grandmother was named Florence Roessler.
Mark’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Nissim Shmuel Zadka Marshall (the son of Nissim Mashal/Marshall/Za’aroor and Farha Sadka). Joseph was born in Baghdad. Here’s an interesting connection: his mother’s first cousin was David Marshall, who was Chief Minister of Singapore 1955-56. David’s grandparents were Nissim Mashal (later anglicized as Marshall) and Farha Sadka, who were Mark’s great-grandparents.
