Marcel Jacob was a Swedish musician. He was the bassist of rock band Europe, and the founder, chief songwriter, and bassist of hard rock band Talisman. Other members of Europe include/have included Ian Haugland, John Levén, Kee Marcello, Mic Michaeli, John Norum, Peter Olsson, Tony Reno, and Joey Tempest. He was also known as Marre.

His father, Michael Jacob, was German, from Berlin. His mother, Lise-Lott (Lewander), was Swedish, from Tyresö, Stockholm.

Marcel’s paternal grandfather was Arno Hugo Max Jacob (the son of Johann Friedrich Gustav Jacob and Ernestine Mehlhorn). Max was born in Oelsen, Spora, Saxony-Anhalt. Ernestine was the daughter of Jacob Mehlhorn and Marie Köhler.

Marcel’s paternal grandmother was Johanna Gertrud Griesche (the daughter of an unknown father and Frida Anna Ernestine Griesche). Johanna was born in Berlin. Frida was the daughter of Christian Emil Robert Griesche and Auguste Emilie Becker.

Marcel’s maternal grandfather was Tore Erik Mauritz Lewander (the son of Emil Sigfrid Lewander and Hilma Kristina Andersdotter). Tore was born in Undenäs, Västra Götaland. Emil was the son of Per Eriksson Lewander and Tekla Christina Gellin. Hilma was the daughter of Anders Petersson and Stina Lovisa Andersdotter.

Marcel’s maternal grandmother was Lisa Charlotta Bergström (the daughter of Arvid Bergström and Anna Augusta Sjöberg). Lisa was born in Nässjö, Jönköping. Arvid was the son of Lars Bergström and Magdalena Christina Granat. Anna was the daughter of Esaias August Sjöberg and Charlotta Carlsdotter.
