Len Cariou is a Canadian actor and stage director. He is known for his roles in the films The Four Seasons, Lady in White, Executive Decision, Thirteen Days, About Schmidt, Secret Window, Spotlight, and Bumblebee, on the show Blue Bloods, and in many prominent stage productions.

Len is the son of Molly/Mollie/Mary Estelle and George Marius Cariou. He was raised in East Kildonan, Manitoba. Len’s father was born in Saskatchewan, of Breton and French descent. Len’s mother was born in Québec, of Irish descent. He is married to author Heather Summerhayes.

Len’s paternal grandfather was named Corentin Mathieu Cariou. Corentin was born in France, and had Breton roots.

Len’s paternal grandmother was Ursula Capitaine (the daughter of Charles Edward Capitaine and Alexandrine Gourmelen). Ursula was born in Algeria, to parents from France.

Len’s maternal grandfather was Thomas Moore III (the son of Thomas Moore II and Mary Hardgrove). Len’s great-grandfather Thomas was born in Ontario, Canada, the son of Irish parents from County Tipperary and County Limerick, Thomas Moore and Catherine Doheny. Mary was born in County Clare, Ireland, the daughter of Richard Hardgrove and Bridget MacNamara.

Len’s maternal grandmother was Agnes Ann Thompson (the daughter of John Patrick Thompson and Jane Moran). John was the son of Alexander Thompson, who was from County Cork, Ireland, and of Eleanor Ellen Casserly. Jane was born in Ireland.
