There is different eye and hair color in the south part of Italy too, just like any other Caucasian ethnicity. The reason Americans visit those parts is because it’s gorgeous.
It´s kind of funny, dont you think? In South America it´s exactly the opposite, due the fact that most italians who arrived there were from the north and they looked almost central european (because of the italic and celtic people).
Peter Facinelli is a good example of a proper northern italian, his parents came from the north. There are dark italians as well, and there are really exotic looking italians, who would be guessed as north africans.
