She was said to have been the daughter of a Jewish father, who converted to Catholicism, of a non-Jewish mother. Imre was the son of Jewish parents, Miksa Ungar/Uranyi, who was born in Martin, Žilina, Slovakia, and Karolina Grün, who was born in Nevidzany, Prievidza, Trenčiansky, Slovakia.

    In János Starker’s book, Eva is described as the daughter of a Jewish convert to Catholicism and an ”Aryan” woman. I don’t know if he meant that her mother was Hungarian or German by calling her Aryan.
