Billy Ocean is a Trinidadian-British recording artist. He is known for his R&B music of the 1970s and 1980s, particularly the songs “When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going,” “Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run),” “Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car,” and “There’ll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry).”
Billy was born in Fyzabad, Trinidad and Tobago, the son of Violet and Hainsley Charles, a Grenadian musician. The family moved to Romford, Essex, England, when he was ten. He is married to Judy, with whom he has three children. His son played rugby sevens at the 2014 Commonwealth Games for Barbados. Billy is a member of the Rastafari movement.
