Jimmy Smits is an American actor. He is known for his roles on the series L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, and The West Wing, among many others in both television and film.
His father, Cornelis Leendert Smits, was Surinamese, from Paramaribo, and had Dutch ancestry. His mother, Emelina Pola y Bermúdez, was Puerto Rican, born in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico.
Jimmy has two children with his former wife Barbara Smits.
Jimmy’s paternal grandfather was named Hendrik Smits.
Jimmy’s paternal grandmother was named Henriette Wilson.

he gets his polynesianish looks from his surinamese side they have ethnic groups from indonesian islands
They have Javan and Indonesian but honestly it’s so mixed and Suriname that he’s more of a classic Suriname creole in appearance not Polynesian.

Hey, i heard he was Native American of either Columbian or some other Soth American Country I can’t remember. (sorry) I know he’s part Native though.
