Jamal Simmons is an American political advisor and commentator. A member of the Democratic Party, he was Communications Director for the Vice President of the United States, from January 9, 2022 to January 5, 2023.

Jamal was raised in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Carolyn Hurst-Boone, a nurse, and The Rev. Larry L. Simmons, who has been an AME Church pastor and managed the quarterly Corporate Detroit Magazine. He is married to Jewel James, with whom he has two children.
