Ishana Night Shyamalan is an American filmmaker. She has written and directed the film The Watchers (2024). She has also written for, and directed episodes of, the show Servant.

She is the daughter of Bhavna Vaswani, a doctor, and director, screenwriter, producer, and actor M. Night Shyamalan. Her paternal grandparents moved to the U.S. in the late 1960s, but her grandmother went back to India to give birth to her father there. Her sister is R&B singer and songwriter Saleka Shyamalan.

Ishana’s paternal grandfather is named Nelliate C. Shyamalan. Nelliate is of Malayali origin, from Mahé.

Ishana’s paternal grandmother is named Jayalakshmi. Jayalakshmi is of Tamil origin.

    Telugu should be added to the ethnicity since Vaswani is a Marathi name.
    Her ethnicity should be displayed as this to emphasize they are three separate ethnic groups:
    *father – Tamil, Malayali
    *mother – Marathi
