Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and violinist. She represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and 2016.

She is the daughter of Stefán Jóhann Pálsson and Kristín Lilliendahl. Her father’s last name is patronymic while her mother’s last name is a family name.

Greta Salóme’s paternal grandfather is Pál Friðriksson (the son of Friðrik Ólafur Pálsson and Petrína Regína Einarsdóttir Rist). Friðrik was the son of Páll Friðriksson and Margrét Árnadóttir. Regína was the daughter of Einar Ásgeirsson Möller and Geirlaug Kristjánsdóttir.

Greta Salóme’s paternal grandmother was Susie Bachmann (the daughter of Stefán Ólafur Bachmann Grímsson and Johanna Hammerbeck). Susie was born in Reykjavík. Stefán was the son of Grímur Ólafsson and Þorgerður Stefanía Olafía Bachmann. Johanna was born in Tromsø, Norway, to Karl Gustav Hammerbeck and Calla Johanne Lund.

Greta Salóme’s maternal grandfather was Karl Lilliendahl (the son of Theódór Lilliendahl and Guðný Hulda Káradóttir). Karl was born in Akureyri. Theódór was the son of Carl Jóhann Lilliendahl and Kristín Ágústa Jónasdóttir. Guðný was the daughter of Kári Sigurjónsson, who was a member of the Althing, and of Sigrún Árnadóttir.

Greta Salóme’s maternal grandmother is Hermina Jónasdóttir (the daughter of Jónas Guðmundur Halldórsson and Kristín Steingrímsdóttir). Jónas was the son of Halldór Benediktsson and Jónína Ingibjörg Hermannsdóttir. Greta Salóme’s great-grandmother Kristín was the daughter of Steingrímur Benediktsson and Kristjana Jóhanna Katarínusdóttir.
