Gene Barry was an American actor. His roles included the films The Atomic City, The War of The Worlds (1953), Soldier of Fortune, The Purple Mask, The Houston Story, and Hong Kong Confidential, and the series Bat Masterson and Burke’s Law.

He was the son of Eva (Conn) and Hyman Martin Klass. His father was a Russian Jewish/Lithuanian Jewish emigrant, from Kovno. His mother was born in Pennsylvania, to Russian Jewish/Polish Jewish parents. He was married to Betty Claire Kalb, until her death, with whom he had three children.

Gene’s paternal grandfather was named Joseph Klass.

Gene’s paternal grandmother was named Sarah Lasarin.

Gene’s maternal grandfather was named Louis/Lewis Conn.

Gene’s maternal grandmother was named Sarah Trotzky.
