Cori Bush is an American Democratic politician, pastor, nurse, and activist. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri, since January 3, 2021. She established the Kingdom Embassy International Church in St. Louis, Missouri, of which she was a pastor.
Cori is the daughter of Barbara and Errol Bush, an alderman, and former mayor, of Northwoods, Missouri. Cori is married to security specialist and U.S. Army veteran Cortney Merritts, and has two children.
Cori’s paternal grandfather was named J.D Whitley.
Cori’s paternal grandmother was Vera Mae Bush (the daughter of James Bush and Inez Trainer). James was the son of Benjamin Bush and Emma Tate. Inez was the daughter of David Trainer and Susan Elzeanor.
