Brandon Johnson is an American politician and educator. A member of the Democratic Party, he has served as Mayor of Chicago, Illinois, since May 15, 2023. He was previously a Member of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, from December 3, 2018 to May 15, 2023.

Brandon is the son of Wilma Jean and Andrew Johnson, a pastor. His parents were occasional foster parents. He is married to Stacie Rencher, with whom he has three children.
