Bob Barr is an American politician and former federal prosecutor. As a member of the Republican Party, he served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia, from January 3, 1995 to January 3, 2003.

He was the Libertarian Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 2008.

Bob is the son of Beatrice Emily (Radenhausen) and Robert Laurence Barr. His mother was of German and English descent. The surname “Barr” is usually Scottish.

Bob’s maternal grandfather was Paul Radenhausen (the son of Christian Radenhausen and Mary Richter). Paul was born in New York, to German parents.

Bob’s maternal grandmother was Ethel A. Ethel was born in New York, to a Virginia-born father and an English mother.
