Betty Grable was an American actress, pin-up girl, dancer, model, and singer. She was also known as Frances Dean.

She was the daughter of Lillian Rose (Hofmann) and John Conn Grable. Her second cousin was stage and film actress Virginia Pearson, through their shared paternal Grable great-grandparents. Betty had two children with her former husband, trumpeter Harry James.
