Andrea Mitchell is an American television opinion commentator and anchor. She is a commentator for NBC news. Andrea is based in Washington D.C. She has hosted the show Andrea Mitchell Reports since 2008.

Andrea is the daughter of Cecile and Sydney Mitchell. Her father was the president of Beth El Synagogue in New Rochelle, New York. Andrea married economist Alan Greenspan in 1997. Alan is also Jewish.

She is a second cousin, once removed, of actor, writer, and director Aaron Michael Metchik. Andrea’s paternal great-grandparents, Isaac Wolf Metchik and Hanya Ruskin, were also Aaron’s paternal great-great-grandparents.

Andrea’s paternal grandfather was Israel Abraham Metchik (the son of Isaac Wolf Metchik and Hanya Ruskin). Israel was born in England, or in Warsaw, Poland, to Belarusian Jewish/Russian Jewish parents. Isaac was born in Litovsk, Brest Province, Belarus, the son of Mordechai Yehuda Metchik. Hanya was the daughter of Moshe Yehuda Leib Ruskin.
