Akie Abe is a Japanese radio disc jockey. She was married to politician Shinzō Abe, who was Prime Minister of Japan, from 26 September, 2006 to 26 September, 2007, and again, from 26 December, 2012 to 16 September, 2020. They were married until his death.

She is the daughter of Emiko (Morinaga) and Akio Matsuzaki.

Akie’s paternal grandfather was Kazuo Matsuzaki (the son of Hansanka Matsuzaki and Yasu Hakoshima). Hansanka was the son of Takasaku Matsuzaki. Yasu was the daughter of Chuhei Hakoshima.

Akie’s paternal grandmother was named Ayako Kaneko.

Akie’s maternal grandfather was Taihei Morinaga (the son of Taichirō/Taichi Kaoru Morinaga and Seki Kosaka). Taichirō founded Morinaga & Company, the first modern candy company in Japan. Taichirō was the son of Tsuneji Kaoru Morinaga and Kiku.

Akie’s maternal grandmother was named Toshiko Toyama.
