“The greatest Wilde since that 19th century poet Oscar”. Her father Marty (birth name Reginald Smith) was in a rock group, came up with the surname “Wild” for promoting purposes and jokingly said his granduncle was Oscar Wilde who was Irish (before the Republic of Ireland declared independence from the UK). “Wilde” according to Kim herself “was actually French”. Don’t you love celebrities invent stories of their ethnicities or ancestors to turn out not to be true, but oh well…her bro Ricky Wilde is also in the music show business.
