Jeremy Clarkson is an English broadcaster, journalist, game show host, and writer. He has been a host of motoring programs Top Gear and The Grand Tour, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, as well as, previously, Robot Wars and Clarkson. He writes columns for The Sunday Times and The Sun. He has also specialized in history and engineering, and co-founded production company W. Chump & Sons. He is 6′5″.

Jeremy is the son of Shirley Gabrielle (Ward), a teacher, and Edward Grenville “Eddie” Clarkson, a travelling salesman. His parents sold tea cosies, and also stuffed Paddington Bear toys they made themselves. He has three children with his former wife Frances Cain. Frances is the daughter of Victoria’s Cross recipient Robert Henry Cain.

Jeremy’s paternal grandfather was Joseph Edward Clarkson (the son of Charles Thomas Clarkson and Sarah Elizabeth Green). Joseph was born in Tickhill, South Yorkshire.

Jeremy’s paternal grandmother was Ethel Constance Hole (the daughter of Percy Hole and Annie Rebecca Heathcote). Ethel was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Jeremy’s maternal grandfather was Robert Walter Livesley Ward (the son of Walter James Ward and Claudia Sheldon).

Jeremy’s maternal grandmother was Gwendoline Kilner Smethurst (the daughter of Harry Lawton Smethurst and Anne “Annie” Kilner). Annie was the daughter of Caleb Kilner and Eleanor Bates.
