Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. was an American actor. He was a decorated naval officer in World War II.

Douglas was the son of Anna Beth (Sully) and famed matinee idol Douglas Fairbanks, who was also a screenwriter, director, and producer.

Douglas was married to merchandiser Vera Shelton, until his death, and to Mary Lee Hartford (born Mary Lee Epling), until her death. Douglas and Mary Lee had three children.

Douglas’s paternal grandfather was Hezekiah Charles Ullman (the son of Lazarus Ullman and Lydia Abrams). Douglas’s grandfather Hezekiah was Jewish. Lazarus was born in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, the son of Hayim Simon Uhlmann and Rosa V. Lydia was the daughter of Levi Abrams, from Bittkau, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and of Roseanna Lindermann, from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Douglas’s paternal grandmother was Ella Adelaide Marsh.

Douglas’s maternal grandfather was Daniel John Sully (the son of Abram/Abraham Charles Sully and Jane). Daniel was born in Rhode Island, to English and Scottish parents.

Douglas’s maternal grandmother was Emma Frances Thompson (the daughter of David M. Thompson and Anna J.). Emma was born in Massachusetts.

Tyler’s maternal grandmother was born Arline Selma Pirsch (the daughter of Jacob Jay Pirsch and Louise Melhado). Jacob was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents, Aron Solomon Pirsch and Rose Goldstein. Tyler’s matrilineal line traces back to a woman named Sarah, who was born, c. 1797, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Tyler’s brother once tweeted, “Just found out I’m exactly 50% Jewish.” He may have been referring to having taken a DNA test that showed him to be of 50% Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. Tyler added, “And our grandfather speaks “Jewish”…”, perhaps referring to a census record that listed their grandfather’s language as “Jewish” (“Yiddish”).

I am looking for information on Maurice Wolf and his wife Frederika Fierlier Wolf. They immigrated from Rotterdam to the Dutch East Indies in 1919. Maurice Wolf was a jeweler and had four shops there. They had two children: Andre Maurice Wolf and Flora Wolf. The family was taken hostage in a Japanese POW camp during WWII. After the war, Maurice and Frederika went back to Holland. Andre Maurice Wolf immigrated to Long Beach, California, USA. Andre Maurice Wolf is my father. I have very little information on him.

Ricki’s maternal grandfather was Robert Smith, whose original name was Andre Maurice Wolf (the son of Maurits “Maurice” Leman Wolf and Frederika “Freddie” Fierlier). Andre was born in Antwerp, Belgium, to Dutch Jewish parents. Maurits was the son of Leman Joel Wolf and Flora van Coevorden. Frederika was the daughter of Nathan Fierlier and Sara Veerman.

Ricki’s maternal grandmother was Elizabeth/Elisabeth Dykstra (the daughter of Albertus/Albert Dykstra and Froukje/Frouke Hager). Elizabeth was born in Hitzum, Friesland, the Netherlands. Albertus was the son of Tamme Dijkstra and Geertje Van Dompselaar. Froukje was the daughter of Klaas Hager and Elizabeth Wiersna.
