Tara Elders is a Dutch actress. Her roles include the films Phileine Says Sorry, Pipo en de p-p-Parelridder, 06/05, Interview (2007), and Vox populi, and the shows TV7, Najib en Julia, and Medea (2005).

Tara is the daughter of Dutch philosopher Fons Elders, and of his American wife, Judith. Her paternal grandparents, Jan and Johanna Elders, were named Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem for saving German Jews during WWII. Tara is married to actor Michiel Huisman, with whom she has a daughter.

Tara’s paternal grandfather was Jan Elders (the son of Jacob Elders and Wilhelmina Breed). Jan was born in Bovenkarspel, North Holland, Netherlands. Jacob was the son of Willem Elders and Grietje Nieuweboer. Wilhelmina was the daughter of Johannes Breed and Aafje Appelman.

Tara’s paternal grandmother was Johanna Josepha Borst (the daughter of Leonardus Borst and Maartje Dekker). Johanna was born in Alkmaar, North Holland, Netherlands. Leonardus was the son of Leendert Borst and Johanna/Jansje van Egmond. Maartje was the daughter of Albert Dekker and Jannetje Kramer.

Tara’s maternal grandfather was Leo Gray/Golinko (the son of Louis Golinko and Lena Vdorchik/Vigdorchik/Wigdorchick). Leo was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Russian Jewish parents. Louis was the son of Barnet Golinko and Aster Horowitz. Lena was the daughter of Barnett Wigdorchick and Rose, who was born in Minsk, Belarus.

Tara’s maternal grandmother was Harriet Lotstein (the daughter of Samuel Lotstein and Anna Schacht). Harriet was born in Connecticut, to a Romanian Jewish father and a Russian Jewish mother.
