Arty Froushan is an American-born British-Iranian actor. He is known for his work on the series Strike Back, Carnival Row, and House of the Dragon.

His father is from Iran. His mother is British, and has English, French, Austrian, Scottish, Northern Irish/Scots-Irish, Dutch, Dutch Jewish [Sephardi Jewish], Hungarian, Polish, and French Huguenot ancestry. They are pictured here. He was raised in England.

Arty’s maternal grandfather was medical doctor Hugh Edward de Wardener (the son of Baron Edouard Reud de Wardener and Rebecca Brevard “Becky” Pearce). Hugh was born in Paris, France, to U.S.-born parents. Arty’s maternal great-grandfather Baron Edouard was born in New York, the son of Baron Rudolph Reud de Wardener, who was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Sibiu, Romania, and likely was of French, Austrian, Hungarian, and Polish ancestry; and of Gabrielle Saportas, whose own father, Edward Saportas, was born in Antwerp, Belgium, to Jewish parents from the Netherlands; and whose own mother, Isabella “Isabel” Jones, was born in Brazil, and likely was of English and Scottish descent.

Arty’s maternal great-grandmother Rebecca was born in New Mexico, the daughter of John Frazer Pearce, who was born in Maryland, and of Eva Marie Lockwood, who was from Delaware. Rebecca was mostly of English, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, and some French Huguenot, descent.

Arty’s maternal grandmother likely is named Jill M. Foxworthy (the daughter of Alfred Henry Foxworthy and Winifred Ethel Thwaites). Jill was born in Kingston, Surrey, England. Alfred was born in England, the son of Alfred Foxworthy and Emily Clarke. Winifred was born in England, the daughter of Percy William Thwaites and Emma Whittle.
