Malina Weissman is an American actress and model. Her roles include the shows Difficult People, Supergirl, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, and the films Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and Nine Lives. She is also known as Malina Pauli Weissman.
Her father is American, from an Ashkenazi Jewish family. Her mother is from Germany. Her sister is indie pop artist Ayla D’lyla.
Malina’s paternal grandfather was Martin Weissman (the son of Joseph Weissman and Ida Balzer). Martin was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was a health facility administrator. Joseph was a Romanian Jewish immigrant, and was the son of Simon Weissman and Jeanette. Ida was the daughter of Austrian Jewish parents, Joseph Balzer and Minnie Risphler.
Malina’s paternal grandmother was named Harriette/Harriet Cohen.

She does say her mother is from Germany. It’s the author who says Ayla is of Palestinian and German descent, possibly or likely just copying from elsewhere on the internet.
