Anthony Padilla is an American YouTuber, interviewer, and actor. He was one half of comedy duo Smosh, posting sketches on the YouTube channel they co-founded, alongside Ian Hecox. He hosts the interview series I Spent a Day With…, and has appeared in Smosh: The Movie and in voice role in The Angry Birds Movies.
His father has Spanish/Mexican and Filipino ancestry. His mother is of German, Irish, and possibly other, descent.
On Twitter, Anthony has stated that he is of one quarter Filipino ancestry. In this short clip, Anthony’s heritage is mentioned, and he also talks about his Filipino (paternal) grandmother.

Anthony’s paternal grandfather may have been Edward F. Padilla (the son of Thomas Padilla and Rebecca Sandoval). Edward was an American of Mexican descent.
Anthony’s paternal grandmother may have been Dolores Gemora (the daughter of Ricardo Gemora and Dolores Benedicto). Dolores was Filipino.
Anthony’s maternal grandfather is named James E. Eden.
Anthony’s maternal grandmother was Bonnie Jean Zink (the daughter of Raymond Zink and Clara E. Hines). Bonnie was born in Ohio.

Edward was an American of Mexican descent, Dolores was Filipino. They married in the Philippines just three months after Anthony’s father was born, which would make sense since I can’t find his birth record in California. They had a son who was born there three years later.
Years ago, sources online claimed he was part-Mexican. So this would explain everything.
What I find odd is that his Southeast Asian (Filipino) ancestry seems to be classified under the “East Asian (and Native American)” banner? Unless his Filipino grandparent was ethnically East Asian (i.e – Chinese)? Because I thought the DNA tests had a separate section for Southeast Asians (lumped together with Pacific Islanders?). And there’s a good chance the Mexican grandfather had Amerindian/Mesoamerican ancestry if this is all true.
Anthony’s mother is Lisa M. Eden.
