she said she’s black. people are going by where her family is from but not their ethnicity. they’re from the west Indian islands or Caribbean but instead of saying that they say puerto rico and domincan republic. its basically how you were brought up, i know i wasn’t brought up to think my ethnicity was latin, my fathers family 3 generations back are from cuba. my mother is black and asian but ethnicity was never an issue with both of them growing up. on my father side they consider themselves black even though looking at them they’re clearly biracial people. Back in the old days on islands like DR you were killed for considering yourself to be a black person, which is why you get now majority of spanish speaking Caribbeans denying any heritage, association or obvious knowledge of black in their own family or in themselves. there are those that do but are look at like their crazy or stupid for thinking that their black. if DR didn’t have those crazy murderous dictators ruling then alot of people wouldn’t have died and majority of people on DR would ‘ve considered themselves black and you probably wouldn’t be hearing all the “im not black im spanish” or “im not caribbean im from DR” or” puerto rico” crap.

First off black and white are races.
      Hispanic isn’t a race just a culture.
Mexican is a nationality. You can be white , black and still Mexican
She is black or predominantly African ancestry.
