Yoon Suk-yeol is a South Korean politician, lawyer, and public prosecutor. He has served as President of South Korea, since 10 May, 2022. He was previously Prosecutor General of South Korea, from 25 July, 2019 to 4 March, 2021.
His father, Yoon Ki-joong, was born in Nonsan, and was an educator, who graduated from Yonsei University and Hitotsubashi University. Yoon’s father later established the Korean Statistical Society, and is a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Korea. Yoon’s mother, Choi Jeong-ja, was born in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, and was a lecturer at Ewha Womans University, before leaving the position after marrying.
President Yoon is married to art curator Kim Kun-hee.
President Yoon’s paternal grandfather was Yoon Ho-byeong (the son of Yoon Sang-nyeon and Park Go-ryeong). Sang-nyeon was the son of Yoon Ja-hong and Jeon Ju-i.
President Yoon’s paternal grandmother was named In Dong-jang.
