She was born to Mexican parents, despite websites stating that she is of part Irish descent. She adopted the surname Laine from her stepfather, Stephen Laine, becoming known as Vanessa Marie Laine.

There are over 100 million people in Mexico so you wouldn’t even have seen less than 0.0001 of the population’s DNA. It probably was Mexican Americans too, that stuff is not always accurate.
