Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, television and radio host, and actor. He was the host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah from 2015 to 2022.

His father is white, of Swiss-German descent. His mother is black, of Xhosa background. His parents’ relationship was illegal at the time of his birth. His mother was fined and jailed as a result.

Noah is Trevor’s mother’s surname.

Trevor is fluent in six languages, English, Afrikaans, and the indigenous African tongues, Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana, and Tsonga. He also speaks some German.

Trevor was raised Christian. However, when he was around 10 or 11, his mother converted to Judaism.

He has said:

…I think when you look at religion, you look at where Christianity came from, you know, my mom delved deeper into that. And she felt a deep connection, and she wanted to go as deep as possible into… the world of religion. And that took her into Judaism… So then I lived my life as a – as a part-white, part-black but then sometimes-Jewish kid. And I didn’t understand ’cause she didn’t make me convert… like, for instance, when I turned 13, she threw me a bar mitzvah… but nobody came because nobody knew what… that was… So it’s just me and my mom. And she’s celebrating, and she’s reading things to me in Hebrew. I don’t know what’s going on. And she’s telling me that now I’m a man… I mean, I still live today with my mom sending me, you know, Hebrew Scriptures or, you know, phrases or celebrating… she’ll write me an email and it’ll be Shanah Tovah, and the next day it’ll be something else, baruch hashem adonai. And… I’m lost half of the time, but that was the world that I grew up in.

Trevor’s maternal grandfather is named Temperance Noah.

Trevor’s maternal grandmother is named Nomaliza/Nomalizo Frances.

    Good looking, but such a politically correct, biased, far-leftist who blames everything on whites and racism.

      Well if said people would stop teaching racist views and raising future generations to hate others, people like Trevor wouldn’t have anything to blame on anybody. This goes for everyone

    South Africa was a fucked up place during apartheid. It’s hard to believe people were that racist and stupid. Wtf?!?

    • fuzzybear44 says:

      Were that racist? From what I’ve seen, there’s still a good amount of the population that is still that way

      • andrew says:

        It seems that it’s the other way round now, White South Africans are the target of racism and so many ones have left the country, or they were killed (expecially farmers) that they even use terms like “white genocide” etc..

          @Andrew

          I don’t think it’s so much as racism as it is retaliation. The blacks there don’t think they are better than the whites, they want the whites out of the country. That land the farmers are on, belong to their ancestors, and they want it back. I’m not saying it’s right, or do I approve of it. Also it’s not all black people doing that, you know it’s just a handful who are calling themselves getting even.. It’s the same thing with the Native American here, if they had the same chance, they would do it to the white people here. On the same note, the white people there are still in mind set that they are better, and have made a new town where the rules are if you’re black, you can’t live there, but anyone white is more than welcome
