Todd Helton is an American professional baseball player. He was a Major League Baseball first baseman, playing his entire career for the Colorado Rockies. Highly regarded as one of the greatest Rockies position players of all time, he holds many Rockies franchise records, as team hit leader, doubles leader, home run leader, walk leader, and RBI leader.

Todd is the son of Martha and Jerry Helton. He is married to Christy, with whom he has two children.

Todd’s paternal grandfather was James Edward Helton (the son of Levi Alexander Helton Sr. and Lillie Carroll). Levi was born in Tennessee, the son of Joseph M. Helton and Martha S. Jenkins. Lillie was the daughter of Sherman A. Carroll and Delia E. Hedrick.

Todd’s paternal grandmother was Dorothy Louise Shinlever (the daughter of George A. Shinlever and Ola E. Mulkey). George was born in Tennessee, the son of James Alfred Shinlever and Minerva Kirkpatrick. Ola was born in Georgia, the daughter of Franklin A. Warren and Lucinda Mulkey.

Todd’s maternal grandfather was Ernest Ferguson (the son of Ernest Ferguson and Annie Parks). Ernest was the son of Joseph Franklin Ferguson and Frances Josephine Tatum. Annie was the daughter of Joseph Robert Parks and Minnie Osteen.

Todd’s maternal grandmother was Wilma Chisam (the daughter of William Anderson Chisam and Mattie Martin). William was born in Tennesse, the son of Gatewood W. Chisam and Laura Safley. Mattie was born in Tennesse, the daughter of Robert E. Martin and Martha Manervia Cantrell.
