Tina Kotek is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been Governor of Oregon, since January 9, 2023. She was previously Majority Leader of the Oregon House of Representatives, from June 30, 2011 to January 14, 2013, and Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives, from January 14, 2013 to January 16, 2022, among other duties. She is one of the first two openly lesbian women elected governor of a U.S. State, along with Maura Healey.
She is the daughter of Florence and Jerry Kotek. Her father was born in New Jersey, to Czech parents. Her mother was also born in New Jersey, to Slovenian parents. Tina is married to Aimee Kotek Wilson.
