Steven Gerrard is a British professional footballer and manager. A midfielder, he played for Liverpool and LA Galaxy, and the England national team; he also captained Liverpool and the England national team. He manages Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq. He perviously managed Liverpool U18/U19, Rangers, and Aston Villa.

Steven is the son of Julie and Paul Gerrard. He is a cousin of professional footballers Anthony Gerrard, who qualified to play for Ireland, and Bobby Duncan. Steven is Catholic. He is married to model and fashion columnist Alex Curran, with whom he has four children.

Steven’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Byrne.
