Roy Orbison was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He was also a member of supergroup Traveling Wilburys, with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Tom Petty.
Roy was the son of Nadine Vesta (Shultz/Shults), a nurse, and Orbie Lee Orbison, an oil well driller and car mechanic. He was married to Claudette Frady, until her death, and to German-born entrepreneur Barbara Orbison, until his death. He had three children with Charlotte, and two children with Barbara.
Roy’s paternal grandfather was Samuel Winfield Orbison (the son of Samuel Houston Moore Orbison and Sarah Jane Strong). Roy’s grandfather Samuel was born in Missouri. Roy’s great-grandfather Samuel was the son of Thomas Orbison and Jenny Moore.
