Rodman Flender is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He has directed the films The Unborn (1991), In the Heat of Passion, which he also wrote; Leprechaun 2, Idle Hands, and Eat, Brains, Love; the documentaries Let Them Eat Rock and Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop, and episodes of the series Tales from the Crypt, The Office, Ugly Betty, Scream (2015), and People of Earth.

He is the son of Enid (Rodman), a Broadway dancer, and Harold Flender, a writer and screenwriter. Rodman is the uncle of actors Pauline Chalamet and Timothée Chalamet, who are the children of Rodman’s sister Nicole. Rodman is married to writer and producer Amy Lippman. All of Rodman’s grandparents were Jewish emigrants, his paternal from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and his maternal from the Russian Empire, specifically Minsk.

Rodman’s paternal grandfather was Jacob “Jack” Flender (the son of Elias Moritz/Mojzesz/Marus Flender and Mariem/Miriam Kempler). Jacob was born in Kraków, Poland. Elias was the son of Abraham Flender and Sime Gletner. Mariem was from Łapanów, Poland.

Rodman’s paternal grandmother was Sadie Kasner/Kassner (the daughter of Hershel/Herschel/Harry Kasner and Chana/Annie Frankel). Hershel was the son of Noach/Nathan Kasner and Jentel/Yetta Wachtel, from Kraków. Chana was born in Tarnow, and was the daughter of Samuel Juda Frankel and Chaja.

Rodman’s maternal grandfather was Philip Rodman (the son of Max Rodman and Celia Kantrowitz). Max was the son of Aaron Samuel and Anna Rosenzweig. Celia was the daughter of Samuel Kantrowitz and Gertrude Levy.

Rodman’s maternal grandmother was Rose Levine (the daughter of Yehuda/Julius Melakhovitzki/Levine and Yetta/Etta/Esther Yurzelnski/Abrajonsky).

One of Rodman’s most distant traceable ancestors is Herschl Bisam, who was born c. 1760.
