I find these categorizations based on skin melanin content both disturbing and downright silly, what is “white people” how would an American know the person he/she is meeting is Southern European? They’ll have no idea. Simple educating system, but can you blame them?

If she had Slavic in her she would look lighter than your average British, not darker. I think she has some Indian ancestry though.
what are you on about?Bulgarians for example are Slavic and they are much darker than your typical Brit.
