Peter Safran is a British-American film producer and manager. He was raised in the United Kingdom. He is the founder of The Safran Company, through which he produced the films Aquaman (2018), Shazam! (2019), and The Suicide Squad (2021).

Peter is the son of Ordell and Henry Safran. He is married to Polish actress Natalia (Jaroszyk) Safran, with whom he has a daughter, actress Lou Lou Safran. His great-great-grandfather, Henry Wolff, was the founder of Congregation Beth Mordecai, a synagogue in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

Peter’s paternal grandfather was Ira Wolff Safran (the son of Charles/Karlis Safran and Rachel Wolff). Ira was born in South Amboy, New Jersey. Charles was a Hungarian Jewish immigrant. Rachel was born in New Jersey to Jewish emigrant parents, Henry Wolff, from East Prussia, and Minnie/Mina Kaufman, who was born in Baden, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Peter’s paternal grandmother was Phyllis Shankman (the daughter of Samuel B. Shankman and Beatrice Elkin). Samuel was a Russian Jewish immigrant. Beatrice was born in New York.

Peter’s maternal grandfather was Frank J. Margolin (the son of Henry Margolin and Goldie/Chaya Golde Berman). Frank was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Russian Jewish parents.

Peter’s maternal grandmother was named Fae A. Reider.
