Paula Deen is an American chef, cookbook author, and television personality. She is known for her shows Paula’s Home Cooking, Paula’s Party, Paula’s Best Dishes, Positively Paula, Paula Deen’s Sweet Home Savannah, and Love & Best Dishes with Paula Deen. She co-starred in the film Elizabethtown.

She is the daughter of Corrie and Earl Wayne Hiers. Paula is married to tugboat captain Michael Groover. She has two children, cook and restaurateur Jamie Deen and television chef and restaurant manager Bobby Deen, with her former husband Jimmy Deen.

Paula’s patrilineal line can be traced to Johann Jacob Hiers, who was born, c. 1707, in Württemberg, Germany.
