Dano is a Slovak nickname for Hebrew name Daniel.
Bablah, is Dano ethnically correct?
From the available sources, yes. Andrew is right about the surname, and there is a ”Russian” Danyo family living near Scranton in Jermyn, but I couldn’t connect these two families, nor could I find any more info on Paul’s.
The surname “Daňo” can be Rusyn
Bret Michaels’ great-grandmother carried that surname. But names that short can probably occur among many ethnic groups.
