Ozzie Smith is an American professional baseball player. He was a shortstop for the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1978 to 1996. Ozzie is considered to be one of the greatest defensive shortstops of all time. He is nicknamed “The Wizard.”

Ozzie is the son of Marvella and Clovis Smith. He has three children, including singer and songwriter Nikko Smith, with his former wife Denise.
