Her mother, Sue Jones, is American, and has English, Scottish, and Scots-Irish/Northern Irish ancestry. She is the half-sister of graphic artist, musician, and composer Shubhendra Shankar and sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar.

Norah has two children with her husband.

Norah’s paternal grandparents were named Shyam Shankar and Hemangini Devi.

Norah’s maternal grandfather was named Delwin Edward Jones. Delwin was born in Oklahoma.

    @Nieltenant actually many Bengalis get very dark and some look East African mixed. A portion small of their dna is melanesian and thats from anchient Africa. Also there are blacks negritos in Asia (people ignore this fact). Hispanica are just mixtures too of Asia, Europe and Africa.
