Noah Kahan is an American singer and songwriter. He released his debut album, “Busyhead,” in 2019. He was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2023.

Noah is the son of Lauri, an author, and Joshua Kahan. His father was born in Massachuesetts. His mother was born in Pennsylvania.

Noah’s paternal grandfather was Richard Solomon Kahan (the son of Joseph Kahan and Xenia Kirschner). Richard was born in London, England, to a Jewish family.

Noah’s paternal grandmother was Valerie Juliet Bagrit (the daughter of Leon Bagrit and Stella Feldman). Valerie was born in London, England, to a Jewish family. Leon was born in Ukraine, and was an industrialist in the U.K.

Noah’s maternal grandfather is John Berkenkamp (the son Julius Berkenkamp and Elizabeth Polnick). John was born in Washington, to German parents.

Noah’s maternal grandmother is Anne Virginia Murphy (the daughter of George Murphy and Virginia Morgan). Anne was born in Ohio. George was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Joseph Murphy, who was of Irish descent, and of Matilda Rhein, who was of German ancestry. Virginia was born in Ohio, the daughter of Thomas Morgan and Lydia Steeves.

    Joseph Kahan was born in Sebezh, Russia to Latvian Jewish parents. Xenia was born in Ventspils, Latvia.
