Moshe Katsav is an Israeli politician. He served as the 8th President of Israel, from 1 August, 2000 to 1 July, 2007.
He is the son of Gohar and Shmuel Katsav. He was born in Yazd, Yazd, Iran, to a Persian Jewish family. The family moved to Israel in 1951.
President Katsav is married to Gila Paradni, with whom he has five children.
Persian Jews are all Mizrahi Jews and also considered (mostly) part of the Sephardic heritage as well.
The only Mizrahi Jews that aren’t of Sephardic background whasoever, are Yemeni Jews.
It’s easier to count Mizrahi as it’s own group rather than as a subgroup of Sephardi Jews. I’ve never seen it defined as you do anywhere.
