Michael Aloni is an Israeli actor, director, writer, and television presenter. He is known for his roles in the films Policeman, Out in the Dark, and A Place in Heaven, and on the shows HaShminiya, Shtisel, When Heroes Fly, Our Boys, Greenhouse Academy, Scenes from a Marriage, The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, and We Were the Lucky Ones.

Aloni is a common surname among Israelis. Alon means “oak” in Hebrew. His father is an attorney and his mother is an accountant.

He was raised in a secular household, and had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.

Michael’s paternal grandfather was named Moshe Dombrowski/Aloni (the son of Izik/Itzhak Dombrowski). Moshe was born in Poland.

Michael’s paternal grandmother was named Sara Lederberg (the daughter of Yaakov Elimelech Lederberg and Chava/Hava Yocheved). Sara was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. Yaakov was born, c. 1876, in Jerusalem, to parents from Płock, mazowieckie, Poland, Yitzhak Halevi Lederberg and Perke/Pernke Pnina Brown.

Michael’s maternal grandfather was named Marian Mushkat (the son of Mark Mushkat and Shifra).

Michael’s maternal grandmother was named Shoshana Greenfeld (the daughter of David Greenfeld and Rebecca). Shoshana was born in Sosnowiec, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.
