Fox in 2007

Birth Name: Megan Denise Fox

Place of Birth: Oak Ridge, Tennessee, U.S.

Date of Birth: May 16, 1986

Megan Fox is an American actress and model. She is known for her roles in the films Holiday in the Sun, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Transformers, and its sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen; How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, Jennifer’s Body, Jonah Hex, Passion Play, Friends with Kids, The Dictator, This Is 40, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows; Above the Shadows, Zeroville, The Battle of Jangsari, Think Like a Dog, Rogue (2020), Till Death, Midnight in the Switchgrass, Night Teeth, Big Gold Brick, Taurus, Good Mourning, and Expend4bles, the made-for-tv movie Crimes of Fashion, and the series Hope & Faith and New Girl. She also co-created and hosted the show Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox.

Megan is the daughter of Gloria Darlene and Franklin Thomas Fox, a parole officer. A picture of her parents can be seen here. Megan was raised partly in Rockwood, Tennessee, in a Pentecostal family. Her stepfather was Tony Tonachio. She moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, when she was ten, and later to Los Angeles, California, for her acting career. Megan has three children with her former husband, actor, producer, and rapper Brian Austin Green.

Megan is of mostly English descent. She also has small amounts of Scottish, German, and Scots-Irish/Northern Irish ancestry, along with distant French and Welsh roots, as well as possibly 1/512th Powhatan Native American ancestry.

Megan’s Instagram profile is titled “the_native_tiger,” and she previously referred to herself as “Child of the Cherokee Tribe” on that site. She has also stated, several times, that she is of part Cherokee Native American ancestry.

Megan’s great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Powhatan, was said to be of half Native American, of the Powhatan tribe, descent. This ancestry comes through Megan’s paternal grandmother. If this claim is accurate, it would make Megan of 1/256 Native American ancestry. No other Native American ancestry, Cherokee or otherwise, has been documented on any of Megan’s publicly available family trees. All of Megan’s grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents are listed as “White” on United States Censuses.

Megan’s paternal grandfather is Ewell T. Foxx (the son of Arthur Thomas Fox and Mary Elizabeth Pass). Ewell was born in Tennessee. Arthur was the son of John Bunyon Fox and Ellen Dora Ussery. Mary was the daughter of John Henderson Pass and Minnie May Erwin.

Megan’s paternal grandmother was Vivian Vier (the daughter of Shellie Vernon Vier and Maud F. Simerly). Shellie was the son of William Ruban Vier and Nancy T. Adamson/Adams. Maud was the daughter of John Franklin Simerly and Rebecca Ann Teffeteller. Megan has German ancestry through Vivian’s ancestor, Joseph Teffeteller (making Megan of at least 1/64th German descent). Megan also has very distant German ancestry from another of Vivian’s lines (through Vivian’s Rainbolt and Grindstaff/Crantzdorf ancestors).

Megan’s maternal grandfather was Clay Harrison Cisson (the son of William Harrison Cisson and Sallie Ann Martin). Clay was born in Tennessee. William was the son of William Cisson and Sarah Jane Davis. Sallie was the daughter of Columbus Allen Martin and Alice Franklin Davis.

Megan’s maternal grandmother was Thelma Macel Nelson (the daughter of James Ransom Nelson and Dailey I. Nelson). Thelma was born in Tennessee. James was the son of Mark Nelson and Martha Ann Crouch. Dailey was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow Nelson and Rosie/Rose Ann Givens. James Ransom Nelson and Dailey Nelson were first cousins, once removed.

Yeah, I was going to say her surname is Irish. :P
Her mom might have some Irish in her too, she looks it, to me.

  2. Ingrid says:

The irish side comes from her father’s side. His surname is Foxx!
Her mother is of french descent, I guess.

  3. Anonymous says:

Yep. Her sister really does look NA…
But Megan doesn’t look NA at all.

If you are 1/8 or any less of a certain culture then it doesn’t count!!!!!!! all celebrities and all these people ALWAYS claim that they are “part native american” but they never say how much. i wonder why. because if they say 1/8 or 1/16 people would laugh at them and not consider them that ethnicity!!! like if they where one half then that is legitamate, but they always try to act like they are mixed and exotic when like one of their grandparents are a quarter of something, which makes them close to zero percent of that ethnicity.

native american people have dark tanned skin and look exotic. without tanning megan fox is PALE!!! if you google images “megan fox pale” 122,000 results come up and in those photos she doesn’t look exotic at all. she looks more GOTH than exotic, and she has plumped up her lips which makes her look more exotic. she has also had a boob job and a nose job. if someone says for example “i’m spanish and french”, they could even mean mostly french with a great great grandfather being spanish which is misleading for them to act bi-racial and mixed. that is what megan fox is doing. she should actually say how much of each she is and actually show photos of CLOSE relatives in her family that are and have native feature and cultural things relating to that ethnicity.

like taylor swift claims part french, when the last ancestor from that origin was born in the 1600’s. you cannot claim that you are part something if it’s that distant from you people!!!

and justin timberlake is a pasty white country boy who always modifies his speech and uses terms that sound somewhat african american and desperately claims that he is “part native american” when i have seen what both of his parents look like and they all resemble nothing of it (like tanned skin and exotic looking). My mother is african american and my father is white and i acknowledge both sides but this boy desperately does not want to admit he is white. i saw a childhood photo of his (like 4 years old) and his hair was blonde with a slight shade of red/orange. Common Justin!!!!!! you ain’t native… more like english/irish.

and megan should get more surgery… it suits her!

Her mother looks just Irish, so Megan’s native american ancestry probably comes from her father.
