Megan is the daughter of Gloria Darlene and Franklin Thomas Fox, a parole officer. A picture of her parents can be seen here. Megan was raised partly in Rockwood, Tennessee, in a Pentecostal family. Her stepfather was Tony Tonachio. She moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, when she was ten, and later to Los Angeles, California, for her acting career. Megan has three children with her former husband, actor, producer, and rapper Brian Austin Green.

Megan’s Instagram profile is titled “the_native_tiger,” and she previously referred to herself as “Child of the Cherokee Tribe” on that site. She has also stated, several times, that she is of part Cherokee Native American ancestry. It does not appear that any verifiable Cherokee Native American ancestry has been produced for Megan Fox. All of her recent ancestors are listed as “White” on U.S. Censuses.

    Many Norwegian minorities became
assimilated. Now, we are taking back
our heritage. I am learning North Sámi
and I am getting a Kven costume.

I have many Sámi features, like high
    cheekbones, almond-shaped eyes,
dark, straight, thick and slightly coarse
hair, small height etc. But there are many
people with less Sámi features that are
more Sámi than me. That my grandmother
looks more Native American than Megan Fox
doesn’t prove that she is. I have always had
dark hair. Maybe you think that makes me
    less Norwegian?
