Maurice White was an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and arranger. He was a seven-time Grammy winner and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. He co-founded the band Earth, Wind & Fire, of which he was the co-lead singer alongside Philip Bailey. The band’s line-up also includes Maurice’s half-brother Verdine White. Maurice was also known as Reece and Moe.

His mother’s name was Edna. Maurice was married, and had three children.

Maurice’s maternal grandfather was General Parker (son of Edward/Ed Parker and Ida Bell Collins). General was born in Arkansas.
