Masha Mashkova is a Russian-American actress. Her roles include the series Not Born Beautiful, McMafia, and For All Mankind, and the film I.S.S. In 2023, she became a U.S. citizen. She is also known simply as Masha.

She is the daughter of actors Yelena Shevchenko and Vladimir Mashkov. Masha is married to musician and businessperson, Alexander Alexandrovich Slobodyanik, with whom she has two children. Alexander is the son of pianist Alexander Slobodyanik, and owns a chain of musical instrument stores.

Masha’s paternal grandfather was named Lev Petrovich Mashkov (the son of Petr Sergeevich Mashkov and Olga Danilovna). Lev Mashkov was an actor. Petr was the son of Sergey Ivanovich Mashkov and Maria Ivanovna Bogolyubskaya.

Masha’s paternal grandmother was Natalia Ivanovna Nikiforova (the daughter of Ivan Georgievich Nikiforov and Nadezhda Evgenievna Zelenskaya). Natalia was born in Moscow, Russia, and was a puppet theatre director. Nadezhda was the daughter of Evgeny Osipovich Zelensky, who was from Kharkiv, Ukraine, and of Melania Frantsevna Sevruk, who was from Moldova. Evgeny was likely Jewish. It is possible that Melania was Jewish as well.

Masha’s maternal grandfather was named Pavel Shevchenko.
