Marie Fredriksson was a Swedish pop singer, songwriter, pianist, and painter. She was lead vocalist of pop rock duo Roxette, alongside Per Gessle.
She was the daughter of Inez and Charles Gösta Fredriksson. She was raised in Östra Ljungby. Marie was married to singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist Mikael Bolyos, until her death, with whom she had two children.
Marie’s paternal grandfather was Oskar Fredriksson (the son of Fredrik Jönsson and Botilla/Bothilda Svensdotter). Oskar was born in Össjö, Skåne. Fredrik was the son of Jöns Olsson and Ingrid Nilsdotter. Botilla was the daughter of Sven Persson and Christina Henriksdotter.
Marie’s paternal grandmother was Albertina Svensson (the daughter of Per Svensson and Assarina Olsdotter/Olasdotter). Albertina was born in Hillarp, Munka Ljungby, Ängelholm, Skåne County. Per was the son of Sven Persson and Anna Persdotter. Assarina was the daughter of Ola Jönsson and Anna Nilsdotter.
